I’ve been asked countless times about doing family photos and the answer, for the longest time, has always been “no”. Well, last year Carrie and I started a family of our own and my thoughts on the subject have changed a bit.
So I’m looking to do a limited run of six family sessions to see how I really feel about them and if they will be something I’ll do regularly in the future. Not only that, but I want to do these sessions a bit differently than what you might commonly see on Facebook.
I want to document your family, much in the way that I’ve been documenting my own, so that means if your kids run around like animals, I’m not going to try and sit them down for a portrait, I’m going to photograph them running around like animals. I want to capture how your family members interact with each other, not how well you can sit still and smile at the camera.
Still interested? Here’s what I’m thinking:
- 4 hours of shooting
- Documenting your family (at home, doing a favorite activity, etc)
- Portraits (relaxed, candid style portraits, nothing very posey-posey)
- Digital negatives
- Private online gallery for sharing with family members
- Cost: $599 + HST

Here are a few images from a family session I recently shot in Atlanta. These are the types of images I’m looking to capture. Real moments, real life.
