One of my favorite things to do when not shooting weddings, is to second shoot weddings with other photographers. Travelling is also up there, so getting to travel to Ireland and second shoot a wedding was a dream. Now, to top it all off I was second shooting with Eric Savoie, one of Ireland’s top wedding photographers, who funny enough was born and raised in Saint John. We had met over the internet a while back, so it was amazing to meet in person, and I hope it’s not the last time we get to do something like this.
There were so many highlights at this wedding for me. The incredible Irish hospitality I was shown by Catriona & Stephen and their families, Catriona’s dress (what a beauty), shooting in the 13th century ruins of Tintern Abbey, and the the flowers. I’m not typically one to get excited over flowers, so let me explain. Weddings for me are typically a visual experience and remembered on a visual or emotional level, but this is a wedding I’ll never forget the smell of. You see, it was lavender season in Ireland, and its soothing smell seemed to follow us around the entire day.
Below is a selection of my favorite photos. For a full look at the day, please head over to Eric’s blog post:
